Review: Jeffrey James Botanicals The Mask

"How you look isn't nearly as important as how you feel. Looking good is a reflection of feeling good." -Jeffrey James.

Jeffrey James, a well reowned professional in the nutrition industy believes "what we are doing on the inside truly reflects on the outside. If you want to look and feel your best, then you have to eliminate the chemicals, toxins, artificial colors, unnecessary additives and processed foods."
With that in mind he set out to create the most effective and organic products on the market to make you feel and look good. I recently picked up his Whipped Raspberry Mud Mask from TJMaxx for about $7. I had never heard of this line before but loved everything  about the simple yet enticing packaging. It has rapidly become one of my favorites in my collection.

"The Mask" is a gentle physical and chemical exfoliant infused with vitamin c and 6.5% glycolic acid whichs helps with cell renewal. Now, you may ask yourself "what exactly is glycolic acid?" Most people hear acid and think it's something you should stay away from but this one is part of the active compound group (also known as AHA's) that are able to penetrate the skin deeply making it great to treat fine lines, acne, blackheads and dullness. It is a chemical peel so it reacts with the top layer of the skin to break it down by dissolving the sebum and other gunk that binds our cells together so dead skin is removed, revealing smoother and brighter skin. It can also minimize the appearance of pores by keeping them clear and who wouldn't want smaller pores?

This mask claims to withdraw toxins and impurities from the skin and utilizes natural bamboo and raspberry to provide antioxidants and gentle exfoliation to nourish the skin.

Just as the name says I would definitely describe it as a whipped mud mask. It smells exactly like raspberries and is so so soft and airy. It goes on super easy and after a few minutes you can feel it cleansing your skin. It does tingle a bit but nothing uncomfortable. I usually leave it on for 10-15 minutes. Its not like other clay or mud mask that dry up completely, its more of a grainy texture but doesn't dry out your skin.
To remove it I dampen my hands and move in upwards circular motions before rising with warm water. Like I mentioned before after removing it my skin is left soft smooth and not at all dried out. I am looking forward to seeing how much my skin will improve using this mask and also checking out more from the Jeffrey James line.

Have you tried any products from this line and if not, what are some of your favorite masks?
